Students at the University of Regina kicked off the fall semester in hopes of avoiding a major distraction like the one experienced last year.
The fall term drastically changed on Nov. 2, 2007 when members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees 1975 went on strike. Many striking members of CUPE were university employees at the U of R. As a result, students were shut out of multiple facilities around the campus in the final month of their fall semester.
