Via text message, reporter Josh Pagé says Sask Party win is projected and crowd at the Swift Current fairgrounds erupts.
CTV's reporting is focusing on the action in Swift Current and projecting a win for the Sask Party.
At approximately 7:30 p.m., reporter Josh Pagé arrived at the Swift Current fairgrounds.
The mood is an optimistic one, reports Pagé, as this is Sask Party leader Brad Wall's home riding.
"Everyone is smiling," Pagé reports. "Everyone is just beyond excited."
All the media outlets are stationed at the fairgrounds in order to report on the outcome in Wall's riding. As he enters the room, Sheryl Crow's "All I Wanna Do" is playing on the stereo. Guests are given noise makers. Already approximately 70 people are there, most of them 40 plus, representative of the strong Sask Party support in Wall's riding.
"There's a confident tone right now with the way people are looking," Pagé said.
By text message, Pagé updated the story as Wall's win gets closer.
Just before 10 p.m., Pagé speaks with David Anderson, a federal conservative MP.
Anderson said he is pleased to be working with the Sask Party. Equalization could become an acute issue within two years, and believes it will be easy for the Conservative government to work with the Sask Party.
At the fairgrounds, the catch phrase has become "hope beats fear." Everyone is chanting, repeating the mantra as Wall prepares to head back to Regina the same evening.
